PTA
Welcome to the St Wilfrid's PTA where all parents are members and all children benefit
St Wilfrid's now has a very active PTA and our key objectives are:
- Fundraising to raise money for the school
- Organising social events to enhance the school community
What does the PTA do?
As a registered charity, the main role of the PTA is to raise funds for the school. The PTA commits to financially supporting some aspects of school life on an ongoing basis (e.g. reward stickers, library books and resources for after school clubs) but we also raise funds for things which are critical to the schools ongoing success but cannot be funded out of the school budget. As in most schools, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run.
Our PTA committee consists of several members who have specific roles; and a larger team who work really hard which ensures that our events run really successfully.
- Louise Stemp (Chair)
- Rachael Dalton & Kate Doyle (Joint Secretaries)
- Claire Leatherbarrow (Treasurer)
- Sarah Bancroft (Parent Representative)
- Jack Puller (Parent Representative)
2022/2023
Total Fundraising for the 2022/2023 academic year was just over £2840.
So where does your money go?
The money raised by the PTA over recent years has been used in a variety of ways:
- Funding for the Fire Pit
- Playground equipment for all phases
- Funding towards our artificial grass football pitch (the Astro)
- Funding for the new trail equipment in the main playground.
- Financial Support for the re-establishment of our school library
Getting involved
As a parent or carer at St Wilfrid's, you are automatically a member of the PTA. There are a number of ways in which you can get involved:
-
Please support the events that are held during the year. There are lots of events held during the year, some for children and some for the whole family. Please come along, help raise funds for the school and meet some new people.
-
Give a little time. There are always lots of things to do in the PTA – whether it’s spending 20 minutes when you’ve dropped your children off at school selling tickets for the school disco or manning a stall at a cake fair!
-
Come along to the PTA Meetings. – They are fun, informative and held at different times of the day both in and out of school so that as many people as possible can attend.
-
If you love to shop . . .
You can help the PTA raise funds for school equipment by simply going to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and accessing major online retailers through this portal. It could not be simpler – it is at no additional cost or hassle to yourselves and indeed could save you money through the special offers accessible at the home page.
Schoolfunds have over 350 of the leading online retailers involved in the scheme including, Boots, Boden, Amazon, Currys, Tesco, PC World, Debenhams, Dell, most car and home insurance providers and many more.
-
This year we're working with Stikins who make school name labels for clothes. No more raiding the lost property box for that missing PE fleece. If you add the School Fundraising Code: 22102 when you make your purchase, the PTA will earn 30% commission without it costing you a penny more! Click here to order Stikins name labels and raise money for our school.
PTA Meetings
We are always looking to welcome new faces to our meetings, whether you want to just listen, voice an opinion, put forward an idea or offer to help out in some way with the events we put on. Whatever time or support you can give the PTA will greatly benefit St Wilfrid's. Meeting dates are posted on the school calendar and the weekly newsletter. You will also find the minutes from the previous meeting at the bottom of the page.
