School Meals
St Wilfrid's CE operates a healthy eating policy. At lunchtime, we encourage children to have a hot meal. These are cooked on site and are nutritionally balanced and always offer a choice. Please do come and speak to Janet or Sian in the school office for the menus or ask to speak to our Head Cook, Diana. Menus usually work on a 3 week cycle. As a Healthy School, we offer a balanced selection of meal choices for our pupils. Our foundation and KS1 pupils also have a choice of fruit at morning break.
Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch. Please note - we are a NUT-FREE school. This means that any product containing any kind of nut is NOT permitted under any circumstances. Children should not bring crisps, sweets or chocolate into school at any time in line with the healthy eating policy. Small, round foods such as grapes, tomatoes etc must be cut in half/into smaller pieces.
Should you wish your child to bring a packed lunch from home, please see the website below for some healthy ideas and advice.
School meals are £2.79 per meal. If a child is in Reception, or Years 1 and 2, they automatically qualify for Universal Free School Meals under the universal scheme. If you think you may be entitled to claimed Free School Meals, please visit gov.uk to check your eligibility.
You can order and pay for your child’s meals via School Hub. This allows you to view our menus and to book your child's meal for up to two weeks in advance. Please speak to Sian in our school office if you require further assistance with School Hub.
Children should bring plain water to drink during the day in labelled bottles. These should be taken home and refilled each day. Please note - juice/fizzy drinks are NOT permitted and may be confiscated.
