St Wilfrids C of E Aided Primary School

Welcome

Welcome to St Wilfrid’s Church of England School, Northenden, a primary school with a big heart!  I would like to warmly welcome you to St Wilfrid’s as you join us for the first time or as prospective parents.  As always, that welcome is extended to those families who already have a long-standing partnership with us.

It is a privilege to be the head of school of a strong and supportive community with our positive and friendly atmosphere reflecting our Christian Values and our links with St Wilfrid’s Church.  People often comment on the warm welcoming and atmosphere they encounter as they come through our doors, coupled with the exciting and creative learning environment for all, where they look.

We have high expectations of ourselves and of all of those associated with our school.  Our ethos is Belonging, Believing, Becoming; where children feel a sense of Belonging to the school, to the community of Northenden and to God, Believe in themselves and in each other and Become well-rounded individuals who achieve the best for themselves and for society.

Our aim at St Wilfrid’s is to develop your child to their full potential.  Our work here allows for all children to develop their academic, social and independent skills, supporting them to build confidence, self-reliance and make informed decisions and choices as they grow.  We want children to love school and love learning, making it a lifelong habit.  Children not only take part in high quality lessons in maths and English but also have the opportunity to develop their skill, knowledge and understanding in the full range of National Curriculum subjects.  This is supplemented with school trips, after school clubs and residential trips to ensure a rich learning experience at St Wilfrid’s CE

The school is fully committed to parental involvement.  It is vital that we support each other. As a school, we will keep you regularly informed of your child’s progress and of activities and events within school, the local community and across the Academy Trust.

If you require any further information about our school or would like to visit us, do contact me to arrange a suitable time.  We very much look forward to a happy and successful partnership with you.
